The largest commercial vehicle manufacturer and exporter Ford Otosan became the second corporation delivering the highest export in automotive sector in 2009 with 2,82 billion dollars and the third in overall export. While 173.457 production units were performed in 2009, 128.983 of them were directed to export.
The total sale of Ford Otosan was 86.791 in 2009, which was 2 thousand more than its closest competitor. Having 5.574 million dollars net income in 2009 and 333 million TL net profit, Ford Otosan has increased its market share in all segments and maintained the market leadership for 8th times with its 15,1 market share.

The first vehicle export from Turkey to the motherland of automotive industry
Ford Otosan Kocaeli plant has the logistic advantages of being very close to the supplier industry and has its own loading port. These logistic advantages and low cost, flexible production power bring the ability to conduct high potential export programs.
Ford Otosan adds value to our country with its export performance to more than 60 countries in 5 continents and in May 22nd 2009 in a ceremony honored with the presence of the Turkish Prime Minister, Ford Otosan became the first vehicle exporter to the motherland of automotive industry and sent the first Turkish vehicle to USA.
Ford Otosan’s automotive adventure which has started with a distributor agreement in 1928 has became an industrial character in 1959 with Otosan’s foundation as Ford assembler in Turkey and now has been employing approximately 8 thousand people in four different locations, in Kocaeli and İnönü plants, the spare part distribution center in İstanbul Kartal and technology center in Gebze Technopark. It has totally 330 thousand commercial vehicles and 65 thousand engine production capacity, as Transit and Transit Connect in Kocaeli plant, Ford Cargo and engine production in İnönü plant. Ford Otosan Kocaeli plant has been rewarded as one of the best Ford plants in the world since 2002 in the assessments conducted among Ford plants in Europe.
Kartal Spare Parts Distribution Center with its 25.000m2 closed area is the largest spare parts distribution center in Turkey which performs parts distribution to 194 locations in Turkey and 40 countries in abroad and keeps average 55 thousand types of spare parts in its stocks.
The Technology Center located in TÜBİTAK Gebze Teknopark opened in September 2007, aims to develop the latest products with the state of the art technology in order to reach a continuous and a growing success in the domestic and the international markets.
