    Nakkaştepe Headquarters

    Nakkaştepe Headquarters accommodating all Koç Group head offices is located on an area of 23,219 square meters.

    The history of Nakkaştepe Offices dates back to the end of the nineteenth century when it was built as a mansion by Mehmet Şerif Pasha, the son-in-law to the Ottoman Dynasty. The mansion and its annex buildings suffered a major destruction due to fire presumably in 1920. The Koç Group bought the mansion on November 29, 1978. In 1984, the Group decided to rebuild the historical Mehmet Şerif Pasha Mansion with the help of the archives of late Prof. Sedad Hakkı Eldem. Mehmet Şerif Pasha Mansion that consists of Harem, Selamlık, Agha Quarters, Hamam, Stables and Head Coachman building was reconstructed according to the restoration projects based on the original architecture.

    Building activity for Koç Holding Headquarters started on Friday, May 30, 1986. Garanti Building Inc. was granted the tender for the complex which took two years to complete the project.

    Koç Holding, previously located in Fındıklı, moved to its new headquarters on September 12, 1988 and continues its activities at its present location.

    The Group was awarded the "Europa Nostra Diploma of Merit" on January 31, 1991 in the Hague, Netherlands for the renovation and rebuilding of Mehmet Şerif Pasha Mansion, a 19th century Ottoman building. A federation consisting of more than 200 European organizations for the conservation of historical and cultural heritage, Europa Nostra presents awards to outstanding restoration projects that create new and interesting areas of utilization for significant historical buildings.

    There are six major buildings in Koç Holding Nakkaştepe Headquarters.

    Old Harem Building (Vehbi Koç Building)
    Old Selamlık Building (Executive Building)
    Old Agha Quarters (Cafeteria)
    Old Hamam Building (Planning and Telecommunication Projects Building)
    Old Stable Building (General Management Building)
    Old Head Coachman Building (Offices)

    Koç Holding buildings preserve the national historical heritage thanks to its faithfulness to original and traditional Turkish architecture. In order achieve originality, state-of-the-art technology was used throughout the restoration and rebuilding of Mehmet Şerif Pasha Mansion which resulted in a successful integration of the old and the new. We owe gratitude to the late Prof. Dr. Sedad Hakkı Eldem for his significant contributions to the making of this work.
