5 out of 10 largest companies are from Koç Group
According to the 2008 results of the annual 500 Largest Industrial Companies survey carried out by the Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ISO), 5 out of the top 10 companies are from the Koç Group: Tüpraş, Ford Otosan, Tofaş, Arçelik and Aygaz.
With a total of 14 companies on the ISO 500 list, Koç Group is once again Turkey’s largest industrial group with respect to revenues, profits, exports and number of employees.
With 49.9 billion TL revenues (generated from manufacturing), Koç Group companies represent 21% of the 500 Largest Industrial Companies and 22% of the total of private companies on the list.
The exports of Koç Group companies that rank among the largest 500, formed 21% of the total exports of the private sector with 13.8 billion USD.
In terms of profitability, Koç Group companies constituted 16% of the total private sector with TL 1.6 billion. With respect to gross value added, Koç Group companies, generated 29% of the private sector with 21.5 billion TL.
