With the advantage of operating in niche markets, having the intellectual property rights, and being capable of technology Otokar grew by 5% in turnover in 2009 and over 100 million $ exports revenue.

Turkey’s Leading Force in Land Systems
Otokar is the overall export leader of Turkish defence industry as well as being the main supplier of the Turkish Military & Security Forces. Its vehicles are performing active duty in more than 15 countries. Being one of the world’s leading designer and manufacturer, Otokar’s armored vehicles differentiate in intention of use, personel capacity and protection levels according to the customer requirements. Otokar is also the prime contractor in the Altay National Main Battle Tank Project of Turkey.

In 2009, Otokar expanded its armored vehicle family with Kaya Mine Resistant Vehicle. Last year, Otokar was awarded with the contract of 861 tactical wheeled-vehicles for Turkish MoD.

Pioneer in Commercial Vehicles
Being one of the leading companies of Turkey with its own designed minibuses and buses, Otokar exports its buses to over 30 countries. The company, continuously focusing on its research and developing activities, expanded its commercial vehicle range with 12 meter KENT series and launched new minibus series.

Despite the economic conditions and the decrease in market, Otokar has increased its market share and become the market leader in small and medium size bus segment.

In 2009 Otokar's medium-size bus, VECTIO, won the "Grand Award", the highest award of Europe, in the "medium size bus" category in Busworld Kortrijk Bus Exhibition.

In trailers, Otokar produces different types of semi-trailers like tankers for the transport of hazardous materials, curtainsider trailers, van type trailers. In this scope, Otokar manufactures in line with the requirements of the customers and preserves its leader position and leading character in niche markets.

Corporate Management Index
Otokar has joined among the leading corporations making up the Corporate Management Index of the Istanbul Stock Exchange in 2008 and received a high rating: 8,12 in 2009.
