Akpa conducts retail and wholesale business for LPG distribution in addition to wholesale marketing of fuels and consumer durables. It has branch offices in Bursa, Antalya, and Izmir. Akpa revenue for the year 2008 was 200 million TL.

Akpa arrived at its current structure with the merger of four subsidiaries of Koç Holding Energy Group in late 2001. Before this merger, each company operated independently in Bursa, Eskişehir, Ankara, and Antalya, respectively. In 2001 these companies merged under the title of Bursa Gaz ve Ticaret A.Ş. and the name of this new company was changed to “Akpa Dayanıklı Tüketim LPG ve Akaryakıt Ürünleri Pazarlama Anonim Şirketi” at the General Assembly on March 17, 2005. Akpa’s area of activity broadened after the merger as the company began operating in fields that are more diverse. The Aygaz Company owns 99.99% of its total shares.
