Considering the needs of society in general and of the industries it serves, Koç Holding has focused its educational projects on vocational training with the project, “Vocational Education: a Crucial Matter for the Nation " initiated on its 80th anniversary. The Group has targeted to reach 8,000 students in seven years with this project. Vocational school students have been provided with internship scholarships along with mentoring and personal development opportunities.
Another project initiated on the Group’s 80th anniversary is “For My Country.” This project encourages every individual to develop approaches that enhance his or her living conditions and surroundings. Koç Group’s more than 15,000 dealers, employees, and companies make voluntary contributions to our society and country. Koç Holding has created 387 projects nationwide under its project, “For My Country.”
Last year, the Koç Group companies united under a single environmental theme with the “For My Country” project for purposes of working together under a common framework to make a difference in creating solutions to global warming and erosion and in conserving natural resources. In this context, they engaged in seven forestation projects in seven regions.
Among its cultural projects, Koç Holding sponsored the 2007 International Istanbul Biennale, a multidimensional cultural event. As Turkey’s most preeminent international cultural event, which also advances Istanbul’s image, the Istanbul Biennale complements Koç Holding’s mission in representing Turkey abroad.
A university festival initiated by Koç Holding in 2006, KOÇ FEST contributes to developing youth and enriching their lives and has reached more than a million university students this year. At the same time, Sizinkiler, the children’s musical, has reached 160,000 children nationwide in three years.
