5 min

Expanding its environmental, social and governance (ESG) initiatives with collaborations on a global scale, Koç Holding has taken another important step in its roadmap to become carbon neutral by 2050. Joining companies that support Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), Koç Holding has become part of a platform that brings together the world's leading organizations aiming to reach net-zero emissions. Koç Holding aims to manage the climate related risks, seize potential opportunities and regularly disclose its performance to its stakeholders in line with the TCFD recommendations.

Commenting on the development, Koç Holding CEO Levent Çakıroğlu said, “I firmly believe that TCFD puts forward an invaluable framework to guide our Group's journey towards a low-carbon economy. We aim to take our part among the global leaders with all the initiatives that we bring to life under our cultural transformation processes including our efforts on addressing climate change. In this context, we closely monitor the Green Deal, which the European Union puts at the core of its climate action and positions it as an economic growth model that will accelerate digital transformation and provide competitive advantage. As Koç Group, we are committed to align our carbon transformation roadmap with the European Green Deal and we will be setting Group-level targets, where we will take into account the climate-related risks and opportunities.

In this context, we closely monitor the Green Deal, which the European Union puts at the core of its climate action, and positions it as an economic growth model that will accelerate digital transformation and provide competitive advantage. After becoming the first company in Turkey to adopt 'Stakeholder Capitalism Metrics’ in corporate reporting, now we aim to further our work by taking part in the TCFD.
